When you send $25 to Giving Back / Linda’s Legacy, a local school child will stuff a backpack with these essential winter clothes and put a card with the name of the person you wish to honor inside. We will then prepare a beautiful Holiday Card designed by a local homeless person documenting this gift, with a special insert describing your gift, and send it to you or your recipient, to be presented as your holiday gift to them." How Can Groups Help?
We love to work with organizations, especially Youth Groups and Schools. Over the past three years, Giving Back has developed a program to provide backpacks, coats and boots to the people directly on the streets of Baltimore. Each backpack will include a heavy duty hooded sweatshirt, thermal underwear (top and bottom), a hat, warm gloves, and a warm pair of socks. We are looking for organizations/neighborhoods/individuals to help us fill these backpacks for the 2010 drive. Giving Back will purchase the backpack, and provide them to groups willing to collect the materials to fill and return them. We are also buying the components in closeouts and bulk quantities, and interested groups could sponsor and assemble backpacks with our goods for just $25! We have over 20 schools and churches/synagogues doing drives in one way or the other. We could easily double that number! We have volunteers that will speak to your group, and help you organize and manage your drive.
